Transport for London have just written to let me know that there are resurfacing works planned from 27th – 30th March along the northbound carriageway of the A2 East Rochester Way between the exit to Eltham Cemetery and the Riefield Road overpass.
As well as providing a smoother and safer road surface, TfL hope that the works will reduce the need for further maintenance.
Temporary overnight northbound closures on the A2 East Rochester Way
TfL cannot complete these works while the carriageway is in use, so they will need to close East Rochester Way northbound temporarily overnight:
|27 Mar||The exit to Eltham Cemetery from East Rochester Way will be closed. Access will be maintained on East Rochester Way for northbound and southbound traffic||21:00 until 05:00 the following morning|
|28 Mar to 30 Mar
|East Rochester Way will be closed to northbound traffic from the exit to Eltham Cemetery. The next northbound access point to the A2 will be via the South Circular. A clearly signed diversion will be in place from the exit to Eltham Cemetery. Southbound traffic will not be affected||21:00 until 05:00 the following morning|
Please plan ahead, allow more time and use alternative routes where possible.
Live road travel information is available from tfl.gov.uk/trafficnews and @TfLTrafficNews on Twitter for the latest updates.
TfL inform me that they will make every effort to complete the works as planned but poor weather conditions may mean we have to reschedule at short notice.
