Highways Committee to discuss parking zone strategy

Last week the Council’s parking survey around the Eltham area was completed.  I now notice that the strategy for Controlled Parking Zones is going to be discussed at the Council’s Highways Committee on Monday 13th
Feb at 7pm.  The details can be found here:
http://committees.royalgreenwich.gov.uk/ieListDocuments.aspx?MId=4130&x=1

and although there are no precise plans for our area we are mentioned in the appendix of item 8.  It feels strangely like the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy planning application display process.

The meeting is open to the public and please do attend if you are interested.

As an update, I have already written to Officers asking for details of the outcome of the consultation and received the following reply:

“The submissions received during the recent attitude surveys and satisfaction surveys are still being collated and analysed but I anticipate that we will be in a position to have a briefing will all local ward Members to discuss the survey results in late February or early March.

I can assure you that all local Ward members will be well briefed and will have chance to feed in to any emerging proposals.”

I will post again once I have any details.

A few people (not just from Eltham North Ward) have emailed me with points they would like to make and I am pleased to read everyone’s views.  If you would like me to pass them on to the Highways Committee, please do let me know and I’ll try to make sure that they are received prior to the meeting next week.

As always, I will be working closely with my colleague Cllr Charlie Davis to ensure that residents’ views are respected.
